When the obligations stack up
and the emails aren’t returned
shoulders groaning under it all
it goes on.
When your thoughts are dry
and your eyes are soaked
fog shrouding your brain
it goes on.
When you can’t decide
and you wake before your time
wishing the covers would envelop it all
it goes on.
When your child falls
and your soul is breaking
scrambling to say the right thing
it goes on.
When everyone else seems to have it fine
and you’re digging yourself out
barely keeping yourself vertical
it goes on.
When you think you cannot open your eyes to another day
and you feel like starting over
knowing today will tip the scale
it goes on.
Love goes on.
Hope.
goes.
on.
What keeps you going? Do you have three words of your own?

October 26, 2012Micahel Ann, thank you. I’m so glad you liked it. Sometimes poetry just seems the right way to go…I never thought about writing a book of it,though! Maybe someday I will!

October 25, 2012Jennifer, that is an amazing poem. I am going to print it and save it. You might consider writing a book of poetry for moms. For anyone of course, but that could be your niche. Anyhow… I loved this one, thank you.
