Oh how I hate those gossipy little bitches
With nothing better to do than
Run
From one to the next
Spreading their toxicity
Oh how I hate those weak, spineless people
With time on their hands
And
Words on their tounges
That hurt
Oh how I hate those small, little humans
Who find pleasure in their meekness
Not
Pain in their accusations and
Falsehoods
Oh how I hate those shallow little adults
Who talk behind backs and
Doors
Instead of having courage to
Communicate
Oh how I hate those parts of myself
That care what they say
And
Give them any notice or
Ammunition.

May 13, 2012Strong verse – the use of repetition and visuals make this strong, and will resonate with your readers long after, especially since it’s a universal experience. I don’t assume the poem is personal (since this happens to me all the time) but if it were, fantastic job at welding words and emotions to send a message.

May 14, 2012Thank you, Brenda…it is a bit personal, and I’m really just thinking about how this is part of the human condition.

May 11, 2012Dear Jennifer, . . . “hates” is a strong word that implies a cauldron of emotion. Hope this is just a reflection. As to hating ourselves or anything about ourselves, I did that for many, many years and doing so undermined everything else I did. Avoid it.
Peace.
Jennifer Wolfe
May 14, 2012Thanks, Dee. Good advice.
